BREAKING FREE- OVERCOMING RELIGIOUS TRAUMA AND SPIRITUAL ABUSE

R 200

I was born into what many might call a religious home, but looking back now, it was much more than that. It was a tightly controlled, closed-off community that masqueraded as a church. On the surface, we seemed deeply devout, but the reality was something more disturbing: a culture of manipulation, control, and fear. This wasn’t just a typical church experience—it was an environment that shaped every aspect of my identity and my understanding of the world. The church wasn’t just a place of worship; it was a way of life. And it wasn’t just any church—it was a movement that convinced us we were the “elect,” a term used to set us apart from everyone else, even our own relatives.
